What is liposuction?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess fat from targeted areas of your body to improve your overall contour and shape. It involves using a cannula, a thin tube, that Dr. Gonzalez inserts through small incisions that he makes in your skin. The cannula is attached to a suction device that dislodges and extracts fat cells from areas that you designate for treatment, such as:

Am I a candidate for liposuction?

To determine if you're a good candidate for liposuction, you’ll meet with the Le Contour Aesthetic Surgery team to discuss your goals, review your medical history, and evaluate your overall health. You should be at a stable weight; liposuction works best on localized fatty areas that haven’t responded well to diet and exercise, but it’s not a weight loss surgery. The procedure improves your body’s contours but won’t eliminate saggy skin or lumpy cellulite.

What are my liposuction options?

Traditional liposuction 

Requires general anesthesia and uses a cannula connected to a vacuum to withdraw fat by suction. The recovery takes longer than less invasive methods.

Tumescent liposuction 

Known as “local liposuction” because it uses a local anesthetic and saline solution to make fat (up to 5 liters) easier to remove. It’s less invasive, so the recovery is quicker.

Laser liposuction
